Tucked away in the original bank vault beneath The Charleston, The Speakeasy is our private dining room with space for up to 10 guests. An intimate, characterful space for the occasions worth doing properly.
Whether you’re marking a milestone birthday, celebrating an anniversary, hosting a corporate lunch or gathering your favourite people for a long, unhurried dinner, The Speakeasy offers something the main restaurant simply can’t: a room that’s entirely yours.
What to expect
Guests dining in The Speakeasy enjoy the full Charleston experience in a dedicated private setting. Our team will be on hand throughout, and pre-orders can be arranged in advance so the evening runs exactly as you’d like it to.
We ask that any dietary requirements or allergen information is shared ahead of your visit so our chefs can prepare accordingly.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many guests can The Speakeasy accommodate?
The Speakeasy seats up to 10 guests. We’re not able to accommodate larger groups, so it’s worth getting in touch early to secure your date.
Do you cater for dietary requirements and allergies?
Yes. Please let us know about any allergies or dietary needs when you enquire or as soon as possible before your visit. Our team and kitchen will do everything they can to accommodate you.
Can I bring my own wine or drinks?
We don’t permit corkage, so please don’t bring your own wine or spirits. All food and drink served in The Speakeasy is prepared and provided by The Charleston.
Can I bring a cake?
Absolutely, a celebration cake from outside is more than welcome.
Can I bring decorations?
We love a bit of atmosphere. Flowers, balloons and candles are all fine with prior notice. Just let us know what you’re planning. Confetti, sparkles and anything attached to the walls are not permitted.
How does the deposit work?
A deposit of 50% of the minimum spend is required two weeks before your booking date. This is deducted from your final bill on the night. Full details on deposits and cancellations are in our terms and conditions.
Can I reserve the bar before or after my booking?
Our bar space can’t be reserved, but you’re welcome to pop through and try your luck on the night.
